Yandina

Yandina is a small rural town located on the Sunshine Coast hinterland 20kms from the Pacific Coast. Yandina is easily accessible via the Bruce Highway, which travels right through Yandina.

Yandina is best known as being the home to Nutworks and Chocolate Factory and the famous Ginger Factory.

Visitors are welcome to tour Nutworks and enjoy tasting and purchasing the large variety of handmade chocolates and freshly grown nuts. Showcasing a range of locally made products, Nutworks and Chocolate Factory sells macadamias, dried fruits, chocolates, confectionery, locally sourced honey, cosmetics, and soaps. Whilst at the factory, you can view how the nuts are processed and roasted and taste some free samples before you make your purchase. Factory viewing is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm; however, formal tours are not offered.

Whilst in Yandina, you shouldn’t miss a visit to the Ginger Factory, where you will discover the worlds largest operating ginger factory selling a massive range of the finest ginger products. You will also discover some fun rides, tranquil gardens as well as fantastic shopping opportunities.

Take a factory tour and discover how ginger is grown, harvested and prepared and discover the myriad of uses for ginger in a variety of foods. Head over to the bee-keepers on-site and find more about the fascinating world of the honeybee. You will have the opportunity to get up and close to these magnificent creatures as well as taste some of the sensational honey varieties in the Ginger Shop. Hop on the Moreton Ginger Train, a 115-year-old cane train that runs leisurely tours through the tranquil gardens. After your train ride, head over to the Overboard Boat Ride, a fun water adventure ride suitable for people of all ages.
