The land is actually significant to the Ningy Ningy tribe, who once referred to it as Toorbul Point. Many years ago, over 2,000 people would gather here to perform sacred rituals. It also served as a site for Allied amphibious training during the first World War. Today, it’s one of Moreton Bay’s fastest developing residential areas, and a visit will show you why so many are eager to live here.

Nature and adventure lovers will enjoy spending a few days at Sandstone Point, with all the many exciting things to see and experience in the area. Go for a stroll along the foreshore, though it’s also a picturesque location to go for a jog, run, or take your furry friends along.

Check out the Kalmakuta Drive Park, which is a terrific spot for picnics by the beach. It’s equipped with beach access, electric BBQs, play equipment, a car park, shelter, seats, toilets, a water fountain, and tables. Other wonderful parks within range include the Avoca Esplanade Park and Lachlan Park.

You can choose from camping at the Turners Camp Rest Area or budget motels and full-service resorts when it comes to accommodation. No matter what your travelling style and budget, you’ll find it here. Of course, you’ll always have easy access to even more thrilling activities just by crossing the bridge over to Bribie Island, which is perfect for all kinds of holidays, whether it be romantic, solo day trips, or a fun-filled family holiday. Bribie is famous for some of the best 4WD tracks, so bring your adventure-loving friends along.
