Kandanga

Kandanga is a small residential town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland located along the Mary Valley Highway, just 28kms south west of Gympie.

Kandanga is best known as the home to the Mary River Festival and the famous Gympie Music Muster, which is located just 20kms west of Kandanga.

The Mary River Festival is held in November each year and aims to increase awareness of the unique Mary River environment through recreation and celebration. With their yearly festival, the organisers put on a massive event with a vast range of workshops, exhibits, entertainment and children’s activities at the Kandanga Recreation Grounds (Spicers Oval).

Kandanga is also conveniently located for those who wish to attend the Gympie Music Muster. The Gympie Music Muster has been entertaining locals and visitors to the Sunshine Coast for over 30 years and hosts some of the best entertainers in Australian country music. The festival runs over four days in Amamoor Creek State Forest, just a 20-minute driver from Kandanga. With 120 artists and more than 250 performances, the Gympie Music Muster is a must-attend event!
