Alexandra Headland Attractions, Best Tourist Things to Do, Places To See
While here, don’t miss out on Alex Corner, which is a magnificent strip encompassing parks and the headland that stretches from north to south. Families can visit for safe swimming, thanks to a patrol by the Alexandra Headland Surf Club. It’s also a beautiful place to go and do nothing, or simply people-watch or admire the surfers.
The Bluff is another popular surf spot among the locals, located on the tip of the headland surf break. Once all that surfing and water action gets you hungry, you can head over to Alex; the charming seaside village where you can grab a bite and refreshments.
Another popular sight among the Alexandra Headland attractions is the HMAS Brisbane Lookout within the Alex Bluff Foreshore Park. This is renowned for being one of the most picturesque viewpoints in all of the Sunshine Coast, but it’s also peppered with a rich history. The monument is a tribute to the soldiers of the HMAS Brisbane, the 2nd vessel serving the Royal Australian Navy. The shipwreck is located just off the coast and also serves as a popular dive spot, but if you prefer to stay on land, learn all about its history through the plaques then enjoy a picnic with a view from here.
If you’re looking for a scenic place to go for a walk, or perhaps watch the sunrise or sunset, it doesn’t get better than at Buhk Family Park. It features a small beach that’s excellent for walking, and it’s nearby several wonderful shops, cafes, and restaurants.
