Meanwhile, the Noosa 1.0 is a short course ideal for those who want to complete their first-ever open water event. The Noosa 2.0 is usually the most popular choice as it takes you to and from Noosa Main Beach and heads towards the Noosa National Park. If it’s your first long open-water swim, you can opt for the Mates Wave version to swim with your friends. The Noosa 3.0 is an excellent way to improve your personal best. It features an extra lap, so check out the course markings on the event day.
The Noosa 5.0 is a marathon distance swim completed by some of the best open-water swimmers in Australia and from abroad. It includes a multi-lap course in the Noosa Main Beach, suitable for those who want to complete a new challenge beyond what’s usually offered in other open water swims.
Noosa 5.0
This event is contested by some of Australia’s most talented pool and open-water swimmers.
The multi-lap course around the sheltered waters of Noosa Main Beach is the perfect opportunity to push your limits beyond the typical open water distances.
Please view our course maps and clarify the course markings on the day if you are unsure.
Noosa 3.0
If you’re looking for a step up in distance from traditional 1km and 2km distances, this course is for you.
Swimmers will swim the same course as the 2.5km course instead of adding an extra lap.
Noosa 2.0
This event is the most popular event on the program. The course sees swimmers tart at Noosa Main Beach near Noosa National Park before swimming past a series of buoys, before turning right around the final buoy to make their return to shore for the finish.
For those taking on their first long course event, there is an option to start with friends and other weekend warriors in the Mates Wave.
Noosa 1.0
The calm, sheltered waters of Noosa are excellent for all abilities, so this short course is an ideal stepping stone for the longer distances, or to conquer your first open water event.
Swimmers will start on the beach before swimming out and turning right around the first buoy, swimming to the second buoy, before turning right again and swimming back to shore to finish.
Junior Giants (300m)
This event is a great opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 to compete with other swimmers their own age. Swimmers will start on the beach before swimming out turning around two buoys before returning to shore to finish.
The event organisers encourage family and friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids.

Swimnastics Sessions
Sunday Feb 23: 8:00am & 9:15am
In 2025, we again have some great new dryland warm-up sessions before you swim, hosted by the amazing Swimnastics team.
Swimnastics develops the fundamentals of dryland strength and conditioning training by teaching athletes to move functionally through a great range of movements with kinesthetic awareness.
These free sessions will include:
- activation for your open-water swim
- an opportunity to learn how to do a dryland warm-up specific for swimming
- by warming up on dryland pre-swim, you are able to swim with greater technique by creating flexibility in your body for the positions required.
- we will work on creating a connection through your body and the length of your stroke
- creating rotation in the upper body and stability in the lower body.
