Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade

The Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is an exciting holiday tradition on the Sunshine Coast.

Occurring on just one day each year, it stands out among all the other holiday parties because you enjoy a unique Christmas cruise.

Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade, 2025 Dates, Times, Location, QLD

Gather your friends, colleagues, and family for the best time aboard. From the boat, visitors are treated to a breathtaking spectacle of Christmas lights on the waterfront establishments in Mooloolaba, as well as Buddina and Minyama. These lights can only be seen from the water, so you’re in for a real treat.

Those who own properties on the waterfront are invited to compete for the best light displays. On top of that, as many as 100 boats will compete for the best Christmas light display, and the winners get some exciting prizes.

The Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is indeed a one-of-a-kind event. Dazzling lights on decorated boats floating across brightly lit properties, there’s so much to feast your eyes on. There will also be other things to look forward to, such as a competition for the best-dressed boy and girl on each vantage point: The Wharf, Charles Clarke Park, La Balsa, and Penny Lane. Each year, there will be charities you can donate to, raffles, and tons of prizes to be won.

For everyone’s safety, spectators and boat owners/operators must follow specific rules. These include always having enough life jackets for your guests on board, handling the boat safely, following the “rules of the road,” and never drinking and driving. Please remember that the Coast Guard and Water Police will be on duty during the ride to ensure the safety of all involved.

The Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is a holiday experience you and your family should not miss.
