The Woodford Sports Complex is right by the showgrounds, which is another popular venue. However, the showgrounds are widely used for rugby, tennis, netball, and other sports. It has two rugby fields and serves as a home base for the Stanley River Junior Rugby League Club, Woodford Pony Club, Woodford and Districts Tennis Association, Woodford Recreation Reserve Association, and the Warriors Netball Club.
These facilities are located at Neurum Road in Woodford, a small but charming township with a rich history. Located just 20 minutes away from Caboolture, the town is renowned for its wide streets, colonial buildings, and an old hotel – which are still seen today. It also happens to be one of the earliest settlements in the shire, which are just some of the reasons why it continues to draw tourists today.
This is where you will find one of the largest collections of gauge steam locomotives in Australia. It’s visible at the Australian Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Society’s museum, located on Archer Street. Other significant highlights of the town include Mount Mee, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Moreton Bay and the Caboolture area.
