An impressive historical attraction is the Woodford Durundur Heritage Railway, where you can see a one-of-a-kind collection featuring two-foot gauge steam, petrol and diesel locomotives on display. The Australian Narrow Gauge Railway Museum offers train rides every first and third Sunday of the month.
On the main street, the AS1 Leopard Tank stands tall. This tank, a tribute to Australia’s Service Men and Women, weighs 42 tonnes and is 7 metres long. The AS1 Leopard Tank was one of the most important contributions to military history.
If you have kids, there’s no better place to take them than Cruice Park, just 4km away. This park was built to honour Ludwig Leichhardt, a famous explorer who used the land across the park as his base camp while exploring the town.
