Aside from the flowers at the Tin Can Bay Wildflower Walk, visitors will also encounter many stunning bird species at the wetlands. Even better, spend a night or two at a houseboat which can be rented around the bay. After the walk, you can also explore the area on a kayak. If you can’t visit during the spring, it’s also a great idea to walk during the late winter.
This is just one of the many exciting things to do while in Tin Can Bay. While you’re here, don’t miss out on the opportunity to hand-feed the rare dolphins at the Barnacles Dolphin Centre. Feeding is done from 7am to 8am daily, so be sure to arrive early. They are home to a resident pod of 9 dolphins, and after they are fed, they will get on with their day. It’s a truly remarkable experience for both young and old.
The Tin Can Inlet is famous for fantastic eco-tourism attractions, and there are so many more to choose from. You’ll also love getting to spend time on the water for excellent boating and fishing. After all, fishing is the dominant industry here, and you can see many of the prawning fleets parked at Schnapper Creek.
