The Sunshine Coast Stadium is also the only regional location that hosts the NRL Telstra Premiership games. They have been pivotal in supporting community games thanks to their excellent facilities and central location in the Sunshine Coast. Their amenities include a grandstand that can cater to 1,050 people, ten fields, and high-performance training facilities equipped with benches, wrestling mat, squat racks, medicine balls, incline leg press, and more. However, they also have expansion projects in the pipeline to cater to the local population of over 330,000 and fast population growth.
The stadium’s field is a significant highlight of this attraction. It has been designed to meet stringent international requirements and was configured for sports that require rectangle surfaces for playing. However, it’s also flexible enough to be used for oval sports, including AFL and cricket.
There are many user groups for the stadium: Brother’s Rugby Club, Kawana Football Club, Kawana Touch Association, Kawana Waters State College, SC Football Club, SC Spartans, and the SC Touch Football Association. As it’s located in the premier sporting precinct in the Sunshine Coast, other nearby venues spread out across 45 hectares. These include Lake Kawana, Western Fields, and the Kawana Aquatic Centre.
For all your sporting and fitness needs, the Sunshine Coast Stadium is highly recommended.
