The beach of Point Arkwright is great for rock fishing though it can get dangerous, so it’s not recommended for those with little experience. The best time to visit is during the sunrise or late afternoons and the sunset.
This destination is abundant with nature and animals; it’s not uncommon to see birds fly by or even marine life such as migrating whales, stingrays, and dolphins. The amenities, including tables and toilets, are always kept clean.
This region offers scenic walks and trails too. The Point Arkwright Trail, in particular, takes you to one of the most scenic headlands in the Sunshine Coast Pathway. It’s ideal for walkers of all fitness levels since the 1km trail is easy. The coastal walk begins at the Coolum Surf Club; follow the boardwalk, which takes you to Point Perry within Wilkinson Park. Continue on the driveway in the park and take the footpath located by the main road. After a few minutes on this path, you will arrive at a bush track within the bus top.
With all the wonderful outdoor things to do and picturesque views, the Point Arkwright Lookout and Picnic Area should be on the top of your itinerary.
