Noosa National Park

The Noosa National Park is home to some of Australia’s most spectacular coastlines.

It’s over 4,000 hectares and encompasses the picturesque headland in Noosa Heads, dunes and heath plains around Lake Weyba, coastal lowlands towards Coolum Beach, and Emu Mountain.

Even though Noosa is already a famous beach destination, loved for its laid-back atmosphere, excellent dining, and stunning beaches, exploring more of what the park has to offer will give you a better glimpse into its natural, raw beauty. Best of all, the park is only within walking distance from the central business district.

Begin your exploration at the day-use zone, where you can find a small kiosk that sells fantastic coffee. From here, you can also grab a map at the information booth and see if you can spot any koalas hanging around in the treetops. The amenities here include electric BBQs, picnic tables, public toilets, and drinking water.

Be sure to wear walking shoes because going on the famous Coastal Walk will take you to some of the most breathtaking sights in this part of the Sunshine Coast. Just keep going with the ocean to your left, and give it around 4 hours to complete. You’ll encounter a wide variety of vegetation that will stimulate all your senses, including coastal bush, rain forest, the iconic Pandanus trees, Banksia, and so much more.

Continue going on the coastal path, then stop at the Boiling Pot. Take in the views, and if you have the time, go to the first beach, called Tea Tree Bay. It’s one of the most popular beaches in the area and is a short walk from Hastings Street.

Continue on the coastal track and try to spot some koalas in the trees just behind the coast. Some tourist facilities are found at the far end of the beach; then, from here, you can continue to Dolphin Point and Granite Bay.
