Nambour Showgrounds

The Nambour Showground is a spacious venue near the Bruce Highway on the Sunshine Coast.

It is widely used for trade shows, expos, festivals, conferences, and other large events.

The showground encompasses 14.52 hectares of recreational space, multi-purpose ovals, sports facilities, a grandstand, and an events venue. It can accommodate as many as 600 patrons, and its facilities include an equestrian section, catering amenities, several function rooms that can be used for both day and night bookings. Some of the big events here each year include the Queensland Garden Expo, Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show, South Queensland Caravan Camping Boating and Fishing Expo, and the Swamp Meet.

The Nambour Showground also regularly hosts sports games and competitions for badminton, equestrians, tennis, and cricket. Oval 1 is the primary oval and is fully fenced. It’s located at the centre of the grounds and features a 600-seat capacity, toilets, change rooms, and a dining hall. Ovals 2 and 3 are larger outdoor recreation areas suitable for events, caravan rallies, and sports.

The Rodeo Sand Arena is a large arena designed to accommodate rodeo and equestrian activities. It’s completely fenced and has an unroofed area, while the Indoor Sand Arena is another spacious equestrian arena with watering and lighting systems.

Any of the equine areas and meeting spaces can be hired both on a regular or ad-hoc basis. The friendly council staff are more than happy to help you coordinate meetings, sports or club events, small and large events, or any other use you need the venue for. The spaces can be hired on a day or hourly basis. It’s best to make bookings at least two weeks ahead because the grounds can get very busy.

The Nambour Showground is an excellent example of a multi-purpose venue that is well-loved by the local community.
