Before climbing, keep in mind that you’ll need great footwear and at least some experience in bushwalking. Some parts of the trail can get very steep, and those who lack experience with bushwalking may find it tricky to reach the summit. If you do make it, though, it will only take around 2 hours return. Remember that there are no well-established trails, so be sure to do some research before you head out.

To get to Mount Eerwah Conservation Park, start along Mount Eerwah Road. Locating the road that will lead you to the mountain’s base can be challenging to find since you will need to pass a few private properties and avoid getting into someone’s yard. There is a small entrance arch that will lead you to a little path. Alternatively, you can take your car straight up Mount Eerwah Road, and in the small clearing, you can park your car. You’ll see an arch made of green wire that is almost concealed by the bushes on the left before the road bends right.

Once you get past the arch, you’ll find a track that will take you between two fences, one of which has been lined with bamboo. From here, you can make your way up to the top, though be careful because it’s very steep.

After exploring the park, why not check out the rest of Eerwah Vale? This rural town is located west of Eumundi and 20km from Noosa Heads. It houses the North Maroochy River headwaters, as well as many tributaries.

Mount Eerwah Conservation Park is a magnificent destination for outdoor lovers.
