The main canal of Lake Kawana has a marina, and visitors can book a cruise from here that will take you through the waterfront. It’s a terrific way to see the stunning waterfront houses as you head into the Mooloolah River. There are many accommodation options near the lake for travellers who want to spend some time here.
While here, check out the other attractions of Kawana. Not to be missed is the pristine Kawana Beach, one of the longest beaches on the Sunshine Coast. Featuring golden sand and incredible water, this patrolled area is lovely for a day of surfing, swimming, rock fishing and beach fishing. The balmy waters are ideal for cooling off after a warm day in the sun or engaging in fishing.
For some fantastic shopping, head over to Kawana Shoppingworld, one of the biggest shopping malls here. You’ll get to scour over 100 shops in the comfort of an air-conditioned mall, with dozens of choices when it comes to fashion, souvenirs, convenience shops, and dining outlets.
If you’re keen on having a picnic while here, La Balsa Park is recommended. It’s just on the edge of the Mooloolah River, boasting an open, spacious green area where you can pop a bottle of wine open and have a grand time.
No matter what outdoor activities you love, Lake Kawana and its nearby attractions have so much to offer.
