The dunny was the result of a competition in 2016 that attracted some 200 local and international entries; it was finally awarded to Michael Lennie, an architectural illustrator from the Sunshine Coast.

Lennie says that his design was inspired by Aboriginal fishing baskets, which he had seen in museums in the past. The result is a toilet raised 4 metres high to enjoy the views of Isaac Moore Park and the Mary Valley. The park also has a map of attractions to explore in the hinterland.
