Gympie Racecourse

The Gympie Racecourse is a premier horse racing venue located just a few hours away by car from Brisbane.

The second racing track found north of Eagle Farm and Doomben, though the Sunshine Coast circuit separates them.

The racecourse is operated by the Gympie Turf Club, which is dedicated to keeping it in excellent conditions all year round for racing events. It is a smaller track that caters to straight favouring horses; it is circular, and its starts include 850m, 1000m, 1150m, 1465m, and 1800m. The track circumference is 1600m, and the home straight is 280m long.

The Gympie Racecourse provides an intimate racing experience because of its smaller size. Membership perks are available for patrons; its top-of-the-line facilities include a bar, restaurant and dining, canteen, tents, marquees, grandstand, bookmakers, and tote service.

The Gympie Turf Club plays an essential role in the racing industry, conducting race meetings in town for over 150 years. The first race meetings took place as far back as 1868, at the height of the Gympie Gold Rush. They operate at Adrian McClintock Park. They have nine race days a year.

With the popularity of thoroughbred horse racing in Australia as a spectator sport, visiting the racecourse is one of the best ways to experience the local culture.
