Begin your exploration at the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre, and from here, continue to the mild climates of Southern D’Aguilar, where you can find panoramic lookouts. Jolly’s lookout is wheelchair accessible, and from here, you can enjoy a BBQ with views of the Samford Valley. When you get to Boombana, prepare to feast your eyes on the stunning stranger figs, climbing vines, and so much more.
D’Aguilar National Park features both forest and mountain tops, and the treks here will also mean you may encounter some wildlife. Spiny crayfish and frogs are among the creatures you may spot in the mountain’s streams, while the open forest comes alive at night with possums and many other nocturnal animals. It’s a popular spot for birdwatching as well: you can see owls, wompoo fruit doves, bower birds, yellow-tailed black cockatoos, and bell miners, to name a few are common sightings.
Some of the facilities within the park are BBQs, a park office, an information centre, picnic tables, a lookout, and wheelchair access. The trails are suitable for cycling, horse riding, hiking, walking, and dirt bike riding. Tent, as well as camper trailer camping, are welcome here too.
D’Aguilar National Park is a magical place filled with natural treasures, definitely a must-visit while here!
