The Caboolture Historical Village features exhibits from the old Caboolture Hospital, Queensland Prison’s Museum, the old Caboolture Railway Station, and many cottages transported from different areas around town.
One of the major highlights is the display of ship models from the 1788 First Fleet that arrived in Sydney. Other attractions within the village include historic homes, antique cars and machinery, and a rainforest garden.
Many schools organise field trips to the museum to educate students about early history in Australia and the local area. Children are also encouraged to visit during school holidays to learn while getting entertained through various exciting activities such as demonstrations of wood-crafting and blacksmithing. These were valuable historical skills that many tend to forget about today.
No matter how old you are, you’ll be hard-pressed not to be enamoured by the charming village while appreciating all the memorabilia on display.
The village is an affordable attraction and makes a convenient stopover as you make your way to the Sunshine Coast. For the best experience, allot around three hours to make the most out of the many experiences in the village.
