Bulcock Beach is also famous among avid anglers. The fishing area here can be found at the lower deck of the boardwalk; it’s wide and suited for fishing activities, including cleaning and fish handling. With the great variety of fish available here, it’s pretty easy to catch one to be cooked at your BBQ. There are designated and prohibited fishing areas, so be sure to check before casting your line.
The best time to swim, especially for those with kids, is during the low tide. This is when you can find wading pools by the sand. The river inlet is also an excellent place to swim peacefully because it only has gentle currents and a spacious sandbar. The beach is patrolled only from September to May each year.
If you aren’t barbecuing, it’s recommended to check the strip of charming cafes and restaurants just across the road. Popular establishments include the Sandbar Café, Tides Waterfront Dining, Beachview Seafoods, Amici Restaurant and Pizzeria, Drift Bar, Acqua, Hello Harry The Burger Joint, and The Coffee Club, among many others.
It’s hard not to fall in love with the charm of Bulcock Beach. We don’t blame you if you’d like to stay a few nights – the good news is that there are lots of stylish accommodation options just behind the beach and in town.
