Alex Corner is one of the most picturesque areas of Alexandra Headland.

Famous among surfers for the terrific swell, this surfing beach is also a favourite of visitors who enjoy catching scenic beach views while people watching.

The major attraction of Alex Corner is the Alexandra Headland shore break. The break stretches out and reaches a flat, rocky right-hand point break. Since the wave tends to be slower and full, this is a great wave to surf with a longboard. It’s ideal for less experienced surfers, though it’s a top surf destination among seasoned surfers too.

On the tip of the Alexandra Headland point break, you’ll find The Bluff, another popular spot, especially among local surfers.

When visiting Alex Corner, make sure to visit a seaside village that the locals refer to as ‘Alex’. Located between Maroochydore and Mooloolaba, Alex has a warm, inviting coastal atmosphere and is usually filled with laid-back surfers. It’s home to a rocky headland known for its great mal wave. Right across the surf club is a patrolled swimming area, great for visitors and non-surfers.

Alex isn’t just popular among surfers; it’s also got one of the best skate parks in the state. If cycling is more your jam, check out the paved path that runs parallel to the sea. Take the whole family fishing off the Bluff, or go for a BBQ with your friends.
